Books

At this stage of my career it is probably best to look at what books are soon to be released!

I am a long time admirer of the likes of Sir Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams and their satirical/anarchic look at humanity through their imagined worlds. Having dipped my toes into the world of Fantasy with my novel, Tahira The Elemental, I wanted to challenge myself as an author. Could I even dare hope, to cling onto their coat tails, and tell a story through an equally sardonic lens?

So with my lofty ambitions held in check I set about writing a story I wanted to read.
Rock is a world very similar to ours. It has lots of humans who think they are better then anyone else or any other species for that matter. They have learned however not to voice that particular opinion too loudly, and certainly not, in the presence of several other, and potentially more dangerously intelligent species, including the goblins, gremlins and fairy folk.

They also realised that the worshipping of gods was a life limiting exercise, especially for the true believers. The idea that one god is better than another god proved to be quite problematic in Rock's early history. That doesn't mean of course that these eternals don't like to test the water from time to time, they are immortal after all and with an awful lot of time on their hands.
The Keyholder's Apprentice
(Release Jan 2025)

When reluctant hero Johnny follows his friends through a mysterious portal, he lands in Rock, a fantastical world teetering on the brink of collapse. Guided by BangDeeDor, the enigmatic Keyholder, Johnny discovers a realm where Rock Gods thrive on the souls of their fans, and humans are little more than sustenance.

With newfound powers and the ability to see Dr Death, Johnny must navigate this bizarre world filled with eccentric characters—a pig-faced king, goblin advisors, and a Queen who reigns over a court straight out of Pride and Prejudice. Alongside new allies, including a fabulous drag queen at a hidden bar, Johnny hatches a daring plan: a Battle of the Bands to unite Rocklings and save their dying planet.

But with danger lurking around every musical riff and a potential traitor in their midst, can Johnny turn up the volume and rescue his friends before the final note plays?

The Problem With Death
(Release Mar 2025)

It's now a year after their arrival and things have begun to settle down but something is amiss. The number of child births the witches have to help with has dropped off, also there are more and more ghosts wandering around and Dr. Death is having a mid life crisis.
